Tony Biddle was born in St. John’s, Newfoundland in 1967. He lived in Montreal until the age of 8, and then began a life of international travel with his family, living and attending school in Singapore, Australia and Indonesia. After graduating from high school in Indonesia, Tony returned to Montreal and did two years of Fine Arts at a pre-university college. He changed tracks a bit at the university level, receiving his Bachelor of Arts majoring in Geography at McGill University in Montreal, followed by a Masters in Environmental Studies at York University in Toronto, the city he has called home since the early 90s.
In 1995 Tony turned his attention back to art. Operating under the trade name Perfect World Productions, Tony began offering graphic design and cartoon illustration services to labour organizations and the wider social justice movement across Canada.
Over the years Tony has developed a unique format for disseminating ideas on progressive issues, which combines plain language
writing, design and illustration to create friendly, easy-to-read-and-understand educational materials. Today, under his new name Perfect World Design, Tony continues to provide graphic design and illustration services to some of the biggest names in organized labour, including the Canadian Auto Workers, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers and the Canadian Labour Congress, among many others.
When he’s not hunched over his drafting table or his computer keyboard, Tony can often be seen outside converting his lawn into a lush, organic vegetable garden.
